Norway
Southern Norway has captivated me three times already, and on each trip I was lucky enough to be accompanied by friends. The breathtaking nature is undoubtedly the main reason to stay in Norway. The imposing mountains with their majestic waterfalls that stretch all the way to the coast are simply spectacular. The fjords, including the impressive Lysefjord with the world-famous Preikestolen near Stavanger, are of incomparable beauty. But also small towns like Mandal and the charming port city of Kristiansand have their own charm and are definitely worth a stopover.
But now let me tell you more about Stavanger. This charming city in the south of Norway is an absolute insider tip. It is known for its picturesque Lysefjord, which stretches majestically in front of the city. This natural spectacle with its steep cliffs, turquoise waters and peaceful atmosphere is simply awe-inspiring. Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock, which overlooks the fjord, is an absolute must-see. Climbing Preikestolen offers a breathtaking view and is definitely an unforgettable experience.
But Stavanger has much more to offer besides the Lysefjord. The picturesque old town, or Gamle Stavanger, is a real treasure. Here you will find narrow alleys, cobbled streets and beautiful wooden houses that create a very special atmosphere. It is a pleasure to stroll through the streets, explore the small stores and enjoy a cup of coffee in the cozy cafes.
The south of Norway, from Kristiansand to Stavanger and Bergen, made a deep impression on me. The unspoiled nature, the fascinating cities and the warm hospitality of the Norwegians have given my travels a very special touch.
